Vietnam-Lotus(Nelumbo nucifera)

Brunei-Simpur(Dillenia suffruticosa) This flower has large yellow petals that spread out like an umbrella when in full bloom.The simpur's image appears on Brunei's currency and is widely used in traditional Bruneian arts and handicrafts.
Cambodia-Rumdul(Mitrella mesnyi) This small yellowish-white flower has a sweet scent that is most prominent in the evening.Khmer women are often compared to rumdul flowers.
Indonesia-Anggrek Bulan(Phalaenopsis amabilis)
This white and purple orchid is one of Indonesia's three national flowers,the other two being the Jasminum sambac ,and the Rafflesia arnoldii.It is one of the world's longest blooming orchids,lasting between two to six month.
Laos-Dok Champa (Plumeria)The small waxy flower is found in many colours,such as red,pink and yellow.It represents sincerity and joy in life and is often used in Laos to make welcome garland for visitors.
Myanmar-Padauk(Pterocarpus inidcus)
These tiny yellow flowers bloom in April coinciding with the Myanmar New Year festival.The paduak tree is a symbol of strength and durability while its flow and romance.
Philippines-Sampaguita Jasmine(Arabia jasmine)The white,sweet smelling sampaguita blooms at night and lasts only a day.This flower is celebrated in Filipino stories and songs.It is believed that the flower was brought to Philippines from the Himalayas in th 17th century.
Thailand-Ratchaphruek(Cassia fistula linn)A yellow cluster-shaped flower.When the flowers bloom,it sheds its leaves,leaving a yellow bright flowers.This flower is said to sign of Buddhism and glory.
